Introduction
In the past I have done dedicated trips to review the EVgo expansion in metro Detroit. For this trip I combined stops at the 3 new or significantly upgraded sites. These new and expanded sites improve the local EVgo network. Site reviews from July 7, 2026
Meijer

At the time of this review, this is the newest EVgo site in Michigan. The units are situated on the far eastern side of the parking lot. A large row of 12 ports for charging. (This station opened in May 2026).
Accessibility
This site is 0.7 miles from M-59 at exit 46 for S Rochester Rd. Taking Rochester Rd north to Auburn Rd east will help avoid having to drive through the parking lot of the Meijer. The northern suburbs like Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills are served by this location. The Meijer hosts these EVSEs but has placed them out of the major traffic flow, ensuring EV drivers have easy access. These units are in the far west of the parking lot closer to Huntington Bank than the Meijer. All 12 stalls are placed along the far row of parking spaces with 2 units separated, some at the end and marked specifically as the accessible charging locations. There is no pull through spot and charging while towing would be difficult at this location.

Concentration
This site has 6 dispensers, and each can charge two cars at the same time, for a total of 12 stalls/ports. The 350kW dual charging units are pull up towards. Pull in/back up depending on vehicle port location. The long line of stalls does not provide any dedicated pull through spot. The stalls furthest from the building seem to provide the most flexibility in parking positions. Of interest, this site is just 6 miles away from another EVgo at a Meijer also in Rochester Hills.
Location
While this site is located on the heavy travel M-59, this is not a road trip route, but more of a commuter route. I am scoring this more as a destination or local support charging location and not the more beneficial travel charging location. Being 180 miles south of Grayling, this site could be useful when traveling to northern Michigan. Mostly, this site is likely to be used by commuters and EV drivers in the local area without access to home charging capabilities.

Speed
EVgo is supporting maximum CCS charging speeds. The high-power Delta units are capable of both max 1000V and can do 500A. This site supports up to 350kW at each port, however the single high power units limit power to the second cable when 2 vehicles are charged at the same time. This site is well equipped to handle both road trip traffic and neighborhood charging. The made in February 2025 (Power Cabinet) and July 2025 Dispensers, Delta charging units here should be available to serve the electric car community for years to come. At this site the transformer is 1500kVA, well undersized for the total site power. If all ports are in use at the same time, this still allows just over 100kW to be available to each.
Summary
This site is quite the change from my single port 50kW power site reviews that I conducted when I first started these activities in 2021 and even a large step up from the 4 stall sites I reviewed in 2022. Larger form factors like this site will give users more confidence. The chargers here are quite the distance from the store. One of the six dispensers on this visit was showing the red light on top indicating some sort of fault. Unfortunately, these dispensers have only a single indicator for both ports, so even if one port is working and the other is faulted it looks like from afar that the whole dispenser is not available. Nice to see larger sites like this come it, be used and support the surrounding community. Also, the basic pricing structure is very expensive and includes a $1 connection fee, unless you pay a monthly subscription fee.
